Polytechnic University of the Philippines
The Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) is a coeducational state university located in Manila, Philippines. Established on October 19, 1904, originally as the Manila Business School, PUP achieved the status of a chartered state university in 1978. It boasts a vast network of more than 20 branches and campuses spread across Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Metro Manila, proudly claiming the title of the Philippines' largest state university by student population.
PUP is widely recognized for its strong emphasis on research and its active student involvement in advocating against tuition fee increases. It consistently ranks among the top-performing higher education institutions in the Philippines, consistently placing within the country's top five universities according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) rankings. It also holds notable positions in QS' Asian and Southeast Asian rankings.
The university is organized into 14 colleges, two high school departments, an Open University System, and a Graduate School. PUP offers a diverse array of over 90 undergraduate and graduate programs, with the Graduate School and College of Education offering doctoral and master's degrees. PUP's pioneering Open University System, a leader in distance learning education in the Philippines, is situated within the Ninoy Aquino Library and Learning Resources Center. The Institute of Technology offers six diploma programs without requiring an entrance test.
Notable features of PUP include its transition to an international school calendar and the accreditation of several of its publications as CHED Accredited Journals. Furthermore, the university has gained recognition for program compliance and quality across various academic disciplines.

These esteemed partners include Arizona State University, Alderson Broaddus University, and Edith Cowan University. Additionally, PUP actively engages in student activism, particularly concerning tuition fee discussions and broader educational issues.
